I Nearly Lost It Today.
Why I lost it. Some days, life throws you a curveball when you least expect it. Today was one of those days.
I was driving on the dual carriageway, cruising along and minding my own business. As I approached an onramp, I did what any courteous driver would—I moved over to the right lane to make room for the joining traffic. Simple enough, right?
Well, not today.
One moment, the road was clear. The next, a slower-moving car appeared, attempting to join the carriageway.
Instead of merging smoothly, they decided to move directly into my lane…while I was still in it. Boy! I nearly Lost it!
My heart skipped a beat as I gripped the steering wheel tighter. A split second felt like an eternity as I calculated my next move. Luckily, I managed to slow down and avoid what could have been a nasty collision. But let me tell you, my patience? It was hanging by a thread.
Once my heart rate settled and I resumed my journey, I started thinking about how this whole experience ties into life and business. (Yes, even in moments of frustration, my brain can’t help but connect the dots!)
Here’s what I realized:
1. You Can’t Control Others
Just like I couldn’t predict or control what that driver was going to do, we can’t control other people’s actions in life or business. What we can control is how we respond. Staying calm and focused in the face of unexpected challenges is a skill worth practicing.
2. Lost It? Be Ready to Adapt
Life doesn’t always go according to plan. Whether it’s a surprise obstacle on the road or a hiccup in your latest project, the key is to adapt quickly and keep moving forward.
Lost It? Stay in Your Lane (But Be Flexible)
I had to adjust my position to avoid disaster, but I didn’t lose sight of my destination. In business, it’s essential to stay focused on your goals while remaining flexible enough to navigate obstacles along the way.
By the time I got home, I felt grateful. Grateful that I avoided an accident, grateful for the reminder to stay calm under pressure, and grateful for the lessons hidden in everyday moments.

Remember, every curveball is just another opportunity to grow. Just like in your marketing, you need to go with the flow sometimes, and learn to avoid the curveball.
