Reflect and Reset

So, here we are—halfway through January already and by now we should be in reflect and reset mode. Blink, and it’ll be February! Honestly, doesn’t it feel like time’s got its foot on the accelerator these days? But before 2025 speeds away from us, let’s hit the brakes for a moment. I want to talk about something that’s been a game-changer for me.

I know, I know—reflection sounds like one of those things that only people with vision boards and color-coded planners do. But hear me out! Taking a moment to look back at where you’ve been isn’t about dwelling on the past. It’s about learning from it, celebrating your wins (yes, you had them!), and figuring out how to move forward smarter, stronger, and more focused.

Reflect and Reset

Why Reflection Matters

Here’s the thing: Life has a funny way of teaching us lessons, but if we don’t stop to notice them, we miss the chance to grow. Reflecting helps you see the patterns—what worked, what didn’t, and what you want to carry with you into the new year. It’s like tidying up your mental desk so you can make space for all the exciting things ahead.

A Simple Exercise to Reset

You don’t need a journal or some fancy app for this—just grab a scrap of paper, a napkin, or even the back of an old receipt (we’re not aiming for Pinterest perfection here). Here’s what you do:

Write down 3 wins from last year. Reflect and Reset

These don’t have to be “I climbed Everest” kind of wins. Maybe you finally figured out how to post a reel on Instagram, or you made your first $20 in affiliate marketing. Heck, maybe you just managed to keep your houseplants alive! Wins are wins, no matter the size.

Jot down 3 lessons you learned from challenges

Life throws curveballs, and sometimes they hit us square in the face. Although every challenge has a silver lining if you’re willing to look for it. What did those tough moments teach you? For me, one big lesson was realizing I don’t have to know everything to get started.

Decide on one thing you want to do differently this year.

One thing. Not ten, not five—just one. Maybe it’s committing to consistency, putting yourself out there more, or finally tackling that project you’ve been “thinking about” since 2010. Small changes lead to big results.

My Own Reflection

Let me share a bit of my list with you:
Wins:
I made more progress in my online business in five months than in 20 years.
I pushed past my fear of technology (mostly) and started blogging consistently.
I found an incredible mentor and community that keep me motivated.

Wins and Lessons

Lessons:

Perfectionism is a productivity killer. Done is better than perfect.
Community makes the journey easier—and more fun.
Procrastination? It’s just fear in disguise.

One Change for 2025

This year, I  am going to reflect and reset by focusing on daily action. Even 15 minutes a day adds up. No more “all or nothing” thinking—it’s about building momentum, one step at a time.

Moving Forward, Reflect and Reset

take the correct path

Reflecting isn’t just about looking back; it’s about setting yourself up for success moving forward. Imagine how much better 2025 could be if you started with just a little clarity.

So here’s my challenge for you: Take 10 minutes today—yes, just 10—and do this exercise. Find a quiet spot, grab your favorite drink, and let your

thoughts flow. It doesn’t have to be perfect or profound. Just honest.

When you’re done, come back here and share one thing you learned in the comments. I’d love to hear from you, and who knows? Your insight might inspire someone else.

Remember: This year isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making progress, no matter how small. Every step you take moves you closer to the life you want. And trust me, you’re capable of so much more than you think.

Let’s make 2025 a year to remember—together. You with me?
